Getting Started With 'Adwords' ... and Why Your Business Needs to Use It

Pay Per Click (PPC) ads are a great way of getting traffic to your site ... quickly, simply, and cheaply (if you do it correctly).

You also get near-instant feedback on your campaigns, so 'split testing' is a very easy and useful option.  Beyond a doubt, PPC is the most effective and targeted means of bringing pre-qualified buyers to your web page, not least beacuse you only pay when a viewer clicks on your ad to be taken through to your site.

You want your ad to act as both a deterrent AND an attraction. Because each click is costing you money, you need to prevent non-buyers from clicking on the ad while at the same time giving serious buyers a qualified reason to take the next step, so word each ad very carefully.

We tend to use Google's 'Adwords' as Google (www.google.co.uk) is the most-used search engine in the UK, but you can use others.  You can sign up for an account here: http://adwords.google.com.

If you need help, ask us, and we can run your campaigns for you.

One proviso - no matter how good your PPC campaign is, if the web page a visitor lands on is irrelevant, confusing or boring, the reader will quickly click away, so make sure you carry the message right through to your site.
